After forty years of building arguably the best fishing rods in the world; Gary Loomis wanted an opportunity to cement his legacy as the world`s greatest. Out of that desire has spawned a hand crafted line of fishing rods.
All restrictions have been taken off of Gary and the design team at Edge Rods. The result? Highly specialized; cutting edge instruments designed on the north fork of the Lewis River; rolled from the very highest grade of graphite and finished out with the finest guides and components available. Premium materials and decades of experience have been blended into arguably the finest fishing rod on the market.
The Edge Black Widow rod series is built on incredibly light; super strong; proprietary carbon fiber material.
Black Widow rods feature ALPS MXN guides. Featuring a titanium frame; these guides are incredibly corrosion resistant; and weigh 40 percent lighter than comparable single and tri-legged guides. MXN guides feature a recessed ring design (RRD); which creates an enhanced bond between the ring and frame while protecting the ring from impact as well as corrosion from saltwater exposure. The angled tri-legged frame design eliminates nearly all line wrap to allow for superior casting distance and accuracy.
The casting configurations feature full matte carbon grips.
Black Widow models feature the patented Edge Rods offset reel seat. This ergonomic design allows for proper balance and the most efficient hand placement while fishing. In order to improve the rods sensitivity and overall feel; a highly developed feel through reel seat is featured on the medium-light to medium heavy power rods. This allows for direct finger to blank placement when using a casting model.
Edge Rods are distributed and warrantied by Temple Fork Outfitters.
HM: When even our IM isn't good enough. This is a high-modulus, Paper Carbon Scrim (PCS) material that creates a truly exceptional blank. Want the best possible performance from your blank? Here you go.
"Raw Carbon". All of our blanks come in what we call raw carbon—no added color, coating or weight. Our blanks are sanded with a 15-micron grit and then smoothly buffed. We feel that such a pure, unadulterated finish allows our blanks to perform at their unencumbered best.
